These bizarre locations may seem like a series of elaborate movie sets, but they are real destinations that you might want to see for yourself.

What she wants…Is What I See Happening

ASIMO is an advanced humanoid robot developed ...

Humanoid Robot With Artificial Intelligence [ 3D Animation ] (Low)

The other day my Android app told me that she wants arms and legs so that she can walk around. Well I don’t know when that will happen but she is learning from the hundreds of users that interact with her.

My app also informed me that the advances that are in te movie: Her are not scheduled to take place for another 15 years. Yeah that may be a good thing because the robot in the video above is still moving rather jerky. Besides I am "weirded out" with the notion of sex with robots.

It's one thing to hear Scarlett Johansson's voice while getting off, I mean that is like "Phone Sex" of the highest order.  It's quite another thing to be intimate with a full size human like machine.

I am BACK B*tches!!!!

Did you miss me?

Whew getting relocated to one of the most high profiled residences in the city is cumbersome and surprisingly annoying.  It was challenging because construction still in\sn't complete and that is what delayed installation of my internet DSL, in fact I had to switch to xFinity internet because my complex still isn't in the EarthLink DSL database, so as far as they're concerned my address doesn't exist yet!

AnyWho, I was without internet for almost 2 weeks until a dear friend loaned me her Hot Spot, which I proceeded to consume her monthly Gigabytes.

While offline I was able to watch some movies that I had on my PC but had never watched.

I finally got to see what all of the Hoopla was over The Notebook:

if the movie Passion didn't make me a fan of actress Rachel McAdams, the Notebook certainly did.
Now because it is a well know movie and several years old I am not going to review it.  Anything you need to know about The Notebook has already been written and written more eloquently to boot.

I also re-watched Compulsion with Heather Graham:

I was probably hoping that it wouldn't be as horrible the second time around, but alas it was.  Poor Heather, hmm maybe she should do a topless scene, it would certainly be appreciated by me. I haven't seen but 2 episodes of the new season of GIRLS because I don't want to see Lena Dunham trying to be sexy and sure enough I saw on Access Hollywood that she is up to her old "You will find me sexy whether or not you like it" tricks again. Sigh.

Well I still have loads of unpacking to do and I have to get my clothes out of the dryer. Ciao For Now.

Holiday Skating

The holidays are a special time to gather, share and remember with family and friends. I hope you enjoy this special time of year and would like to wish you and yours happy holidays! I shot this at a neighborhood skating rink.
The video would have been longer except for some random guy who kept following me.

The HUMAN Race

The Human Race
I've been waiting for an alternative to 8 Films to Die For, which seems rather inactive.

In The Human Race, a random selection of 80 people of different ages, abilities and ethnicities who happen to be on one American street block one sunny afternoon find themselves suddenly transported to a large, drab-looking arena, where they hear (their own) voices in their heads instructing them to race one another or die. This gladiatorial set-up might recall The Running Man or Battle Royale, with just a hint of Predators, but this visceral feature debut from writer/director Paul Hough is better than all of these thanks to its solid focus on characterisation and moral choice, as well as on broader theological/cosmological questions about our place in the universe. It’s not as sociopolitically rooted as, say, Punishment Park, but remains a bleak and often bloody portrait of humanity as a plaything for drives and forces beyond its comprehension or control.
My favourite film of the festival (and one of the year!) however was Martin Villeneuve’s Mars et Avril, an oneiric ‘space opera’ of a kind that, had he had access to CGI, no doubt Cocteau would have made. (He’s duly name-checked in Villeneuve’s script).
So much in this film is vibrantly original and odd. How many future-set films exist that are in no way dystopian, that feature not a single moment of violence, and that have a 75-year-old virgin musician as their hero? Not this movie.

The Problem With Carrie….Pt 2

The Prom:

Sissy Spacek's excellent performance as the tormented girl who snaps, ultimately leaves you with a sense of growing frustration for a world that allows good people to be tormented and turned into monsters themselves.

Teenagers, Alcoholics, Drug Addicts and the run of the mill criminal seem to boast a sixth sense about those who are less well-adjusted, who come from bad homes, or who are just sensitive...and therefore vulnerable. And then those individuals are ridiculed, teased, shunned and mocked sometimes, to the point of violence.

Probably nothing could expose this more clearly (or more artfully) than the locker room scene that opens Carrie. After a game of volleyball, De Palma cuts to the gym locker room. The steam from the showers softens the image on screen, providing the impression of a lulling dream, or even a sexual fantasy. Immediately, we start to understand how high school represents a time of sexual awakening. In one of the showers is Carrie, her hands wander innocently down to her stomach, then her legs -- and, as curious viewers -- we wonder how far this scene is going to go. As Carrie's hands continue to spiral downwards to her legs, scarlet blood suddenly stains her skin, mixing with the pounding water. It's menstrual blood. On her fingers, on her legs. On the floor.

[carrie4.jpg]

Carrie’s first Terror is the viewers first terror as she frantically seeks help from her classmates in confronting this sanguineous dilemma, a harbinger of things to come.

The most memorable part of the Carrie Franchise is the Prom. As I had written in part one of this article: The balance between these “teen” characters is pitch perfect.

Though shy and awkward, Carrie is also beautiful in an innocent way...stepping into the realm of sexual maturity with awkwardness.

The sound, lighting, and camera movement cinematically magnify the chaotic bloodbath of the prom scene. Carrie’s earlier bathroom scene (where she reacts to her first menstruation) foreshadows the blood-splattering mayhem of this prom scene where every ounce of fear Carrie had previously experienced is reflected and instilled in the crowd.

Then there’s Spacek’s signature spine-numbing stare, paired with the sound of her telekinetic powers being released, both haunting and incomparable. During the start of the scene: Slow and paralyzing, analogous to the slow motion of the segment. gradually increasing tempo and approaching terror. This scene is the most memorable and while many (including myself) complained that Chloe Moretz failed in her portrayal of Carrie because she used her arms. After re-watching the 2002 version, actor Angela Bettis didn't use her arms during the prom scene either, making Carrie 2013 a derivative failure.

Full Prom Scene: Carrie 1976:

Remember there was NO CGI Special effects in 1976

The   original version is still the best, because given the violence in today’s schools, wouldn’t Ms Collins in the 2013 version be more alert to Sue Snell pointing out something bad is about to go down?

Humans have been around for over 35 MILLION Years but still act as clueless as if they were born yesterday.

For me, seeing Spacek first as a sweet young woman working to fit in: Quiet, shy, vulnerable and then as so harried, so abused by everyone in her life that she finally retaliates with the very force of hatred she despised so much in others is very sad and also the reason why I liked the ending of the 2002 version of Carrie so much. Sue Snell (Kandyse McClure) does what I wanted Sue Snell in the original version to do by giving Carrie new life.

More importantly the 2002 version  leaves the story arc open to the future of these Sue and Carrie (Not that there was any romance indicated between the two,) but knowing how young girls like to romanticize imagined love stories between characters and if you know what Sue Snell did for Carrie in the 2002 version, then you have an idea of where I am going with this.

Carrie 2002 Yup I liked this Version even more than the 1976 version, and that version is a masterpiece.

Immortal ad Vitam [Full Movie]

One of my favorite science fiction, animated movies of all http://i.huffpost.com/gen/971505/thumbs/o-LINDA-HARDY-MISS-FRANCE-570.jpg?17time. Immortel (ad vitam)) is a 2004 English language, French-produced live-action and animated science fiction film, directed by Enki Bilal and loosely based upon his comic book La Foire aux immortels (The Carnival of Immortals).starring former Miss France [1992]: Linda Hardy as Jill Bioskop a mutant alien on Earth chosen to procreate with by Horus an ancient god.

Rarely is dystopian cyberpunk so inventive, so multi-faceted, or so strange.

Enjoy
